The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is proposing increases to water and wastewater rates beginning July 1, 2007 and July 1, 2008 to continue the seismic upgrades to our Hetch Hetchy water delivery system and address urgent flooding issues and other neighborhood concerns with our wastewater system. Part of the rate package includes a residential conservation rate structure that promotes water conservation and a new water capacity charge that will be administered to new and expanding development in the city. The average residential household will see their bimonthly bill increase by approximately 8%.
