    I talked to a neighbor and she said this will change this block. There will be some parallel; some perpendicular parking, and plantings in the sidewalk extentions. Also the street lanes will curve a little around these. She thinks there was a pedestrian injury in the past that started this.

      Dan's correct...these changes came out of of the first traffic calming study in the city. Bernal was the pilot case. The study took place years ago but the city is just getting around to implementing the traffic calming measures.

  Man.... people are already crashing into that darn thing... I imagine when the rainy season starts.. we'd best be extra careful... its awful swervy.. The only good I see from this is... more parking.. less likely for a runaway car to roll down into the kids playground.. but sheesh! I hope they plan to make it more obvious....

    I'm already cutting the edges off the sharp angles if no other cars are coming. I would think the first car sticking out would be hit sometime.
