I hear service is unreliable, but I'm going to have to start using it to get around, so I hope what I heard is not based on fact. -M

When it shows up as scheduled, it's great. It's supposed to come every 20 minutes on weekdays (every 30 on weekends), and sometimes there aren't enough buses making the loop due to drivers calling in sick, etc. This seems to happen once every couple of weeks during commute times (it's even more unreliable after 7PM), so be sure to factor in an extra 20 minutes in case of a 67 no-show if you are pressed for time. If you live close to Cortland, you can take the 24 to Mission St. and then hop on the 14 or 49 as a backup to get to BART if needed.

I always jump on it from Crescent Street where you can choose between the 23 or the 67 and they both go to the BART...(Glen Park and 26th respectively) I founf the 67 to be more reliable than the 23 however I believe the 67 comes from Hunter's Point then through the Allemany Projects so you can draw your own conclusions there.

It doesn't come from Hunter's Point. It makes a loop from the BART station through Bernal Heights, and yes that includes the Alemany farmer's market and the low-income housing down on Ellsworth.

when i used to jump on the 67, I used to stand on Crescent and Ellsworth, where you have the option of catching the 67 that goes down Crescent and then down mission street (and by the way, it turns up 25th and goes around the block, ending on 24th and Mission facing East)., catching the 67 that turns from Ellsworth down Crescent & then down Folsom Street (this loop goes around the hill and ends up on 24th & Mission facing West), OR the 23, which is the fastest in getting you to BART (Glenn Park BART station).

So since I stood on this corner, I never really had to wait for very long, but yes, sometimes the 67 during commute hours would take 40 minutes because one of the drivers wasn't there... once I called on my cell phone to 674-MUNI and they told me why I had been wating for 40 minutes to no avail, which I should have guessed and just started walking to another bus line :)

I think it's better than the 24 (on the weekends). sometimes i wait for AN HOUR for the frickin' 24!!!

And, the 67 makes a loop around the Alemany Projects, not Hunters Point...

The fucked up thing is that there have been a handful of times when me & a friend are the only passengers on the 67 in the evening (between 7-10) and the driver has yelled back to us asking us where we're going. Once we answered, he skipped the Alemany Housing altogether. What if someone down there needed a ride up to Cortland or to the BART? You can't just skip part of your route! Dammit, I wish I called and complained, but I think I was selfish at the time and enjoyed the shortcut.

I have lived here in BH my entire life and have taken this bus most of it. Back when it was the 23 Cresent and had a very sort loop it was good but very limited. Since they have split the line into the red & gold loops there is more frequency, more hours of service but a deterioration in service. Either drivers call out or they are pulled to fill slots on the bigger commute lines, (47, 49 or 14 lines) and not replaced. I find if you are catching the In Bound bus which departs 24th street and travels down Folsom then up the hill, the 6pm buss is usually the one that gets pulled or just does not come regularly. In the morning I find that the 7:20am bus traveling Out Bound, (down Alabama to Ripley & over Folsom to 24th street) fails to show up regularly. If you need to be someplace ontime, give yourself an extra 25 minutes. this sucks but unlike the other larger commute lines, this bus does only run every 20 min, so missing it can put you behind the eight ball for 25 extra minutes. Since i live at the top of Alabama i often just hop on the first mission st bus and walk over precita and up the hill from there, same amount of time as sitting there waiting for the next bus, although the street show at the 24th street stop is quite entertaining at times. Also traveling the back way up mission street on that loop works but is a long haul if not your direction and the patrons at the back of the bus can be quite obnoxious and loud.
If your not too far off the 24 line you can catch that at cortland & mission and travel over the hill that way and walk down or up to your location. But either way Muni does suck but at the same time, just leave the city and see how far you get and how quickly you get there on public trans, you'll be gald the next time you hop on the muni, 20 min will seem like a second when waiting nearly an hour for a samtrans or a/c transit bus!! Oh yeah, we also rate some of the ruder drivers on this route too, not to mention the hi-speed rollercoaster like rides they deliver, just hang on tight and you should be alright and for crimany sakes....don't let go of the pole or get up until the bus has come to a complete stop!!!
